Keyboard Haters-Cancel Culture
Keyboard Haters-Cancel Culture

There are those who spend their time on their keyboards as finger-wagging vultures who appear to delight in tormenting and tearing apart individuals they do not like.  They attack, mock, label, call names, demonize, make innuendos of those whom they disagree with, and try to cancel them out. They attack the messenger instead of the message. Attacking the person instead of their positions, policies, actions. All of this is a form of hate.

Keyboard Bullying
In reality this is keyboard bullying and it is a tool of cancel culture. No matter what the person they disagree with says or does they mock and deride them, they attack them personally. They create an atmosphere where no one else is willing to challenge their unhealthy behavior because of the fear they will also be mocked and degraded by the keyboard bully. Opposition is canceled. The bully wins. Since there is no opposition to the bully, the keyboard hater must be speaking truth and is seen as a hero to others, instead of as a very disrespectful person with some issues.

Healthy Disagreement
A person may totally disagree with someone's character, behavior, actions, positions, policies. They may feel the need to share their perspective. That can be done in a humble, respectful, honorable manner. Stick to facts, not opinions and innuendos, do it in kindness, not hate.

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY
Statistics show those who manifest such behavior lean towards being prideful, having a degree of narcissism and/or Machiavellianism, at the extreme, a form of psychopathy. (Machiavellianism is the name of a personality trait construct characterized by interpersonal manipulation, indifference to morality, lack of empathy, and a calculated focus on self-interest.)

We can hate and attack such individuals, even become like them, or we can pray for them. These individuals most likely have much wounding in their life. They may have experienced a variety of forms of abuse in their childhood or did not live in a loving environment. They need healing. They need deliverance.

Let’s make sure we are not manifesting such behavior and pray for those who are keyboard haters. Let’s pray they encounter the love of Christ. Let's pray they will repent of their behavior, even apologize for it.
