One of the challenges in Fairfield Bay is that there are those who take on the name of Christ but are bearing a false witness. They manifest sinful anger, speak unwholesome words, bitterness, rage, slander, and hate. Ephesians 4:30 states such behavior grieves the Holy Spirit. In Ephesians 4:27 it says that such behavior gives the devil a foothold. Such behavior fuels the drama that is in Fairfield Bay.
Some justify the ungodly behavior, they seem to believe the end justifies the means. They think it is needed to bring positive change in Fairfield Bay. All it does is create an environment for Satan to have a heyday in Fairfield Bay. We see the same thing happening on the National Level.
Solution
Pray that those who manifest such behavior are convicted by the Holy Spirit-that they will become aware of their behavior, how it grieves the Holy Spirit, that it harms others, that it opens them to be used by the devil, and that they will repent. Pray that they will Get Rid Of such behavior and replace it with kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. Pray for those who manifest such behavior that do not know Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior come to a saving relationship with Jesus.
Get Rid
Ephesians 4:31-32
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Put Off
Ephesians 4:22-24
22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Bottom Line
The environment in Fairfield Bay would be better if those who proclaim the name of Jesus would act more like Jesus. The environment would be better if those who are bound by sin were transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit. The environment in Fairfield Bay would be better if there was a move of God, so we pray for repentance, renewal, reformation, revival.
Confession
I need to confess that when I read the evil remarks made on Facebook, it makes me angry and frustrated. When I hear the twisting of truth, half-truths (which are lies) it makes me angry. I want to personally confront those who do it. I want to call them out. Instead I remind myself that this is a Spiritual Battle that is won in prayer. Thus I choose to Stand in the Gap-praying, asking the Lord to work on the minds and harts of those who have chosen to not Get Rid Of, Put Off.
