In the City of Fairfield Bay Mayor Sikes was recalled in a recent election. Whether someone agrees or disagrees with the recall it has taken place and there is the need of a new mayor. There will either be an election (sounds like it could cost $20,000 or more for an election) or the City Council will appoint someone as mayor. Whether there is an election or an appointment there will be a new mayor. Lets pray that the best person for the position will be either elected or appointed. May God's perfect will be accomplished.

Here are things we can pray in regards to the person that is elected or appointed as mayor.
-Pray that the person has skills, abilities, experience as an administrator since that is their main role as mayor, this would include management skills and the ability to multitask and follow through on required tasks.

-Pray that the person has a good handle on finances. They need to be able to determine if City Departments and entities that they oversee are staying within budgets.

-Pray that the person is someone who is able to have healthy interactions with the City Council, City Department Heads, the Chamber of Commerce, The Fairfield Bay Community Club, the businesses in Fairfield Bay, and the citizens of Fairfield Bay.

-Pray that the person is able to bring unity in the community, to mend fences.

-Pray that the person what is best for Fairfield Bay, not for themselves. That they have a servant's heart.

-Pray that the person does not have unholy alliances with any entity. That they clearly are not 'owned' by any entity.

-Pray that the person has a level of maturity that is required for the position. That the person is not one who operates out of emotions.

-Pray that the person has evidence/fruit of being a person of ethical and moral character.

-Pray that the person has evidence/fruit in their life that verifies they have the above qualifications.

-Pray that character and experience is more important than whom they may know or who supports them.

-Pray that the citizens of Fairfield Bay or the City Council make the right choice.

-Pray that it will be clear that the person voted in or nominated as mayor has overwhelming support by winning by a very large amount if there is an election, or by unanimous vote by the City Council. That this will help lessen the drama in Fairfield Bay.

-Pray that all entities in Fairfield Bay will make a commitment to work with and support whoever becomes mayor, regardless if they are voted in or appointed. The reality is they will be the mayor. If they have the above qualifications, the city of Fairfield Bay will benefit. Pray that everyone will want to see them succeed.
