There is Hope for Fairfield Bay, the Church, and America! With all that is going on in our communities, in the body of Christ, in America, in the world, it can certainly feel hopeless. It can feel like it is a waste of time to stand for TRUTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS. To stand for moral and ethical values. To stand for decency. To stand for showing respect. Especially if you do not have a solid relationship with Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior.
Reality-It is Hopeless
The truth is it is hopeless if you are trusting in a person, the government, or even a church or other religious organization. It is hopeless if you are leaning on your own strength. It is hopeless if you are living life based upon emotions and feelings. It is hopeless without prayer.
HOPE
How can there be any hope? Because our God is a merciful God and He hears and answers the prayers of His people. Especially when they humble themselves before Him and seek His Face. Especially when they repent and choose to Stand in the Gap for individuals, for a community (Fairfield Bay and other communities), for the body of Christ, for AMERICA, for the world. There can be HOPE if there is a remnant Standing in the Gap. That remnant can grow into a powerful spiritual army for the Kingdom of God.
2 Chronicles 7:13-15 NASB
13If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, 14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.
More Reality
Another reality is even with prayer, intercession, repentance, renewal, reformation, and revival circumstances may get worse. It is clear we are living in, or close to, the end times. The evidence is clear. The truth is the Sovereign Lord may say "ENOUGH!!" HE may bring judgment upon our Land and this world. He certainly will if there is not repentance within the body of Christ.
1 Peter 4: 15-18
15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
GOOD NEWS!
Even if it becomes hopeless for a community or this world, it is not hopeless for those who are in Christ Jesus. It is not hopeless for those who who stand and after they stand, they still stand. (Ephesians 6:13 NIV Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.) It is not hopeless for those who come to Christ because of the Remnant Standing in the Gap for lost souls. It is not hopeless who get delivered and set free from lifelong bondage. (John 6:36 So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.)
LET'S FOCUS ON INTERCESSORY PRAYER, MINISTERING TO INDIVIDUALS, AND SHARING THE GOSPEL TO SAVE SOULS AND LET GOD DECIDE IF HE WANTS TO SAVE FAIRFIELD BAY AND AMERICA.
(Yes, as American citizens we should do all we can to make our cities and our country better, but let's first get our lives and priorities aligned with the Word of God. The end justifies the means mentality is not helpful, but instead it is ungodly and destructive.)
PS Everything may collapse and be destroyed including churches and church buildings, but the true followers of Christ-HIS BODY, will rise up!
